Tell us about yourself?
My name is Rupi*. I’m a member of Baale Mane. I have been here for the past 7 years.

What do you feel about Baale Mane?
I feel very happy and safe. I’m getting education so I’m thankful to them.

Tell us about your family.
I lost my parents when I was a kid. I haven’t seen their faces, not even in photos. My uncle helped me to join Baale Mane. My grandmother is my world–she loves me a lot and I too love her more than anything in the world.

What is your goal in life?
I want to be a bank manager. This is my dream job.

How do you celebrate festivals at Baale Mane?
We decorate our home with flowers and put Rangoli on the floor. We prepare delicious sweets. I feel that Indian festivals are something which fills happiness and excitement in someone’s life. We worship our god and pray for goodness.

Do you feel safe in college and at Baale Mane?
Yes! I feel very safe in college as our teacher’s takes care of us in every moment. In Baale Mane we have security guards and our staff is also there for us, so I feel very safe.

How is your study going on?
I always get first class results in my studies. I’m very determined towards my goal. Economics is my favorite subject. I need to work hard to fulfill my dreams.

What are the different cultural activities you like the most in college?
We do farewell parties for our seniors when they leave college. We do fashion shows, singing, and dance. I enjoy dance but sad news is I’m also a senior now! So they are going to send me off from the college.

Are you a leader at Baale Mane? What do you think about leadership?
Yes, I’m a team leader at Baale Mane where I take care of younger girls and help them solve their problems. I think a leader should be someone who could encourage others ideas too.

What are the creative things you have learned from your friends?
My friends help me to improve my communication and I have learned dance, volleyball, and knitting from my Baale Mane friends.
