Our current projects

Shadhika is currently supporting the following projects, most of which are in, or near, Kolkata (Calcutta):

Monimala – An educational program for underprivileged children

New Light – A night shelter and school for children of sex workers in a red light district

Uddami – Computer vocational training for children in orphanages

Paripurnata – A rehabilitation facility for women released from mental hospitals

Buddha Smiles School – a primary school for the poorest children in Sarnath, near Varanasi, India

Projects we’ve supported in the past:

SB Devi Clinic – A clinic that offers free medical assistance to the destitute

HOPE School – A school for disabled children

Punjabi Hospital – A medical center that works to combat high infant mortality and morbidity, and an extremely high rate of population growth
